Automation: Customer Registration Bonus Campaign
Definitions:
Automated Email Campaign: A series of scheduled, personalized emails triggered by specific customer actions.
Customer Registration Bonus Campaign: Newly registered card holders are funded a promotional value that is automatically applied to customer cards upon a registration event.
How does it work?
Once set up, every time a customer registers their card (Loyalty or Gift Card) in the mobile app or via your web portal link (during a live campaign), the Marketing Hub is notified of an action that happened and will trigger a communication (email or SMS). A message will be sent to the customer with a predefined message that you have created when setting up the campaign. Your communication could have a special offer of $5 to use in-store, or perhaps you've added a promotion of $10 that expires 10 days from the customer receiving the message.
The automation works for both Ackroo loyalty and gift card-style programs, and is available to all Marketing Hub users, regardless of subscription tier. You can run a registration bonus campaign for a specific time period or indefinitely.
Offering your customers a bonus when they register can be a good idea for several reasons, as it can benefit both the business and the customers.
Here are some of the key advantages:
1. Incentivizes Sign-Ups:
A registration bonus serves as a powerful incentive to encourage customers to join your loyalty program. People are more likely to sign up when they see an immediate benefit or reward.
2. Customer Acquisition:
It helps in acquiring new customers. When people sign up for your loyalty program, they are essentially giving you their contact information, allowing you to engage with them directly through marketing efforts.
3. Enhanced Engagement:
Members who receive a registration bonus are more likely to engage with your brand, both in-store and online. They may feel a sense of obligation or gratitude and want to reciprocate by making more purchases.
4. Data Collection:
Registration allows you to collect valuable customer data, including contact information, preferences, and purchase history. This data can be used to personalize offers and marketing campaigns, creating a more tailored and effective customer experience.
5. Brand Loyalty:
By rewarding customers at the outset, you're more likely to instill a sense of loyalty from the beginning of the relationship. Loyalty programs are all about fostering long-term customer relationships, and a registration bonus can set a positive tone.
6. Word of Mouth:
Satisfied customers who receive a registration bonus may share their positive experience with friends and family, potentially bringing in more customers through word of mouth.
7. Competitive Advantage:
Offering a registration bonus can set your loyalty program apart from competitors. It demonstrates that you value your customers and are willing to reward them right away.
8. Initial Purchase:
The bonus can encourage members to make an initial purchase, helping them experience your products or services firsthand. Once they've made a purchase, they may be more likely to return for future transactions.
9. Data for Targeted Marketing:
The information collected during registration can be used for targeted marketing campaigns. You can send personalized offers and recommendations based on the customer's preferences, increasing the likelihood of conversion.
It's important to note that while offering a registration bonus can be effective, it should be designed strategically to ensure it aligns with your business goals and doesn't lead to unsustainable costs. Additionally, the value of the bonus should be appealing to customers without causing financial strain on your business. Regularly analyzing the effectiveness of your loyalty program and making adjustments as needed is essential for long-term success.
