Golf - Restriction Detail

To manage a restriction's details and enter new restrictions.

Here's an example of the "Restriction Detail" sub-screen:



Restriction Number: Internal number generated by the system for each restriction. When validating restrictions, the restriction number is displayed in the error/warning message. This allows you to easily find and verify a restriction after an error message has been displayed.

Inactive restriction: Marks whether the restriction is active or not. An inactive restriction is never applied. If you deactivate a restriction at the end of the season, it's important to reactivate it at the beginning of the next season.

Restriction Class: Group restrictions using letters in order to override certain restrictions on specific dates for special events. We suggest the following classes: J=Junior, I=guest, G=greenfee, S=5-day member. But you can establish your own classes. You can also configure the list of restriction classes in value table 79- Restriction classes.

Desc. French/English: Restriction's name in French/English.
Day of Week Selections: Indicates on what days of the week the restriction applies. It's also possible to indicate a pre-established application schedule, such as every week, every 2 weeks, etc. For example, certain clubs with 2x18 holes alternate each week, on the two courses, two restrictions applying to spouses. It's possible to set up such a restriction by shifting the second restriction's application date by a week in relation to the first one. For restrictions applying to holidays, it's important to mark which days are holidays in the calendar every year. When a restriction applies to a specific date or list of dates, there's no need to check days of the week to set it properly.



Course: For clubs with more than one course, indicates whether the restriction applies to one particular course or all of them.

Inc./Exc. Group: Indicates whether the restriction applies to a group of members (league).
Allows you to include or exclude members of a league for the restriction. If you want this restriction to prevent the league's members from reserving, select "Include". If you want to prevent members not belonging to the league from reserving, select "Exclude". The latter is used to reserve a certain time range for a league.
You must also select which member types the restriction will apply to. If the league's members are allowed to bring guests, the restriction will have to apply to all member types except guests.

Group: Indicates which group will be included/excluded, according to the selection made in the "Inc./Exc. Group" field.

Applies to Gender: Indicates whether the restriction applies to all, or to women or men only.

Date Range Selections: Indicates whether the restriction applies all season long, before or after a certain date, between two dates or on given dates. It's important to revise this every year. When the restriction applies to a specific period, you must indicate a beginning and end application date.



Time Range Selections: Indicates the time ranges when the restriction applies. When it applies for a specific period in the day, the beginning and end times must be entered.



Other limits: Section reserved to define other limits. If they don't apply, select "non-applicable", which is the default for most of these limits. It's important to note that a restriction defined using the "Other limits" section will not apply if the limits are respected.

Must be accompanied by: Indicates whether a particular limit has been set for this restriction. Usually applies to juniors and non-shareholder members.

The possible choices are:
- Adult member: the "Adult" checkbox must be checked for all authorized member types.
- Parent: must be accompanied by an adult within the same family (with the same master member).
- Shareholder Member: the "Shareholder" checkbox must be checked for all authorized member types.
- Pro/Assistant: the "Pro/Assist" checkbox must be checked for all authorized member types, ex. Pro.

Max. Guests per Member: Indicates whether a maximum number of guests per member is established. Usually applies to the guest member type.
Max. Guests per Foursome: Indicates whether a maximum number of guests per foursome has been set.

Max. Games per Family: Indicates whether a maximum number of games per family has been set. Family members have the same master member.

Max. Games per Month: Indicates whether a maximum number of games per month has been set.

Max. Games per Day guests: Indicates whether a maximum number of guests per day has been set. Certain clubs could allow, say, a maximum of 25 guests per day.

Applies how many days/hours prior to tee time: Indicates whether the restriction stops applying when the tee time's coming up soon. A number of hours before the tee time must be indicated. If the restriction still applies, select "Non-applicable".

Authority level required to bypass restriction: For users with the required minimum authority level, a message of warning is displayed and the user will be able to bypass the restriction and accept the tee time or reservation. The available choices are:



Only applies during proshop billing: Indicates that the restriction will not be validated during reservation, but only during the greenfee's billing.

Calculated with start time of restriction: When the "Applies how many days/hours prior to tee time" field is set to less than 24 hours, checking this box means that the number of hours before the tee time will not be calculated with respect to the tee time, but with respect to the restriction's start time. The field is gray if the restriction applies more than 24 hours before the tee time.

Exclude in reservation ballots: When checked, indicates that the restriction will not be validated when a reservation ballot is created.

Maximum non-shareholders per shareholder: A maximum number of non-shareholders per shareholder can be set for when a non-shareholder member needs to be accompanied by a shareholder. For a 50-50 rule, select 1.

Applies to the total of all guests: When checked, indicates that the maximum number of games for this restriction applies to all guest member types the guest may have reserved or been billed under. For example, in certain clubs, if a guest is a family member, their greenfee may be discounted. When they are billed, their member type is therefore changed automatically from "Guest" to "Family guest" in the point of sale.

Applies only to specific tournaments: Indicates whether the restriction applies only to tournaments with this restriction entered in their tournament detail. This allows you, for example, to limit tournament sign-ups to shareholder members only.
